Benefits

Club members can take classes for half the regular class fee, and members also receive the Club publication, "The Dixie Recall" each month. Members who serve on the Board of Directors, commit to teach a minimum number of classes each year, or provide substantial and ongoing volunteer services to the Club comparable in time commitment as determined by the Board can attend unlimited classes that year for free and can also use the building for free throughout the year. Board members receive two years of benefit for each year of service.

Prerequisite

  • Remain in good standing with the American Kennel Club.
  • Subscribe to the purposes of the Nashville Dog Training Club (NDTC).
  • Agree to abide by the NDTC Constitution and the rules of the American Kennel Club.
  • Have not within the past 12 months been denied membership in or been expelled from NDTC.
  • Within the past three years have completed a minimum of eight weeks of classes offered by NDTC, or completed the following comparable training elsewhere

As a volunteer organization, the Club is always in need of people to teach classes, serve as rings stewards or registrars at matches, perform any of a myriad of duties for our trials, distribute marketing brochures, help with building maintenance and trash removal, answer the phone lines and field questions, write for and edit our newsletter, and represent the Club at public events, to name just a few of the many functions that must be performed in order to fulfill our goals.  Our membership chair coordinates these volunteer activities for those wishing to apply for membership.  Many of these functions do not require specific dog-training knowledge or experience.  There is a suitable job for any person wishing to support the Club.

Application

To apply for membership, download the application form, and follow the instructions on the form.  Feel free to contact the Membership Chairperson with any further questions.
