BASIC OBEDIENCE

Level 3 - Introduction to Novice Obedience

This class introduces the specific exercises in the AKC Novice Obedience class including

  • heeling patterns
  • figure eight
  • recalls
  • fronts
  • finishes
  • stand for exam
  • long stays
Those not intending to compete may still enjoy learning these exercises, and their dogs can benefit from the increased precision and the deeper level of bonding that will take place.

Many students wish to repeat Level 3, as needed, before moving on to Level 4.

Group Sit, Level 3

Prerequisites: Dogs must be at least 4 months old and able to sit/stay on command and walk on a loose leash. Students who have never put an obedience title on a dog must first complete Level 1 & 2 and earn their CGC. Seasoned competitors may start their dog's formal training with this class. All NDTC classes require proof of current rabies vaccination for dogs age six months or older.
